Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the development of adaptogen supplement technology to people who desire to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
Auburn Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1999 by Dr. Michael Van Noy, an equine veterinarian, and his wife, Joy. Beginning in 1993, Joy and Michael used adaptogenic herbal formulas to improve not only their own health and well-being, but also that of the horses in Dr. Van Noy’s San Francisco Bay Area veterinary practice. Their initial endeavors utilized formulas comprised of multiple adaptogenic herbs which were intended to provide the greatest resistance to stress, in addition to the most beneficial response to athletic training.
As part of our commitment to provide our customers with exceptional herbal products with repeatable and reliable health benefits, we have identified several laboratories which specialize in quantitative analysis of botanical ingredients utilizing high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). By using state of the art laboratory analysis of key botanical markers, we are able to consistently deliver products with reliable health benefits for you and your animals.
Prior to the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia in 2000, Auburn Laboratories, Inc. played a pioneering role in evaluating the benefits of our early adaptogen formula – APF (Advanced Protection Formula), as an immune-modulator in healthy adult horses. The results have been published in the peer reviewed scientific journal, Equine Veterinary Journal, and are widely cited.

At Auburn Laboratories, Inc., we are extremely fortunate that we are able to improve the health and well-being of companion animals and the people who care for them as well!
Each year, in an effort to express our gratitude, we contribute a portion of our sales to three areas with which we have a special connection.
The first is equine medical research in collaboration with the USEA Equine Medical Research Funding Initiative and the Morris Animal Foundation. The second is our commitment to the safe and comfortable retirement of Thoroughbred horses after their racing careers have ended. To that end, we are delighted to provide ongoing financial support to Michael Blowen and his extraordinary work at Old Friends Farm in Georgetown, KY. Finally, knowing that our children are our future, we are especially pleased to contribute to youth agricultural education programs which include both FFA (Future Farmers of America) and 4-H Clubs.
We LOVE to recycle! And we hope everyone else does. Sure, it takes a bit more time and space to manage, but virtually ALL of our office paper, envelops, corrugated boxes, plastic carboys and barrels go to the recycle center or, in the case of the carboys and barrels, agricultural use – a second life! This commitment played a central role in our decision to use plastic in the bottling of our products.
All our products are packaged in recyclable plastic, which is safer for the on-the-go person than glass and is lighter to ship, which reduces carbon emissions. Our decision to use bottles of larger sizes not only allows our customers to select the appropriate serving that best serves their individual needs, but also greatly reduces the downstream plastic waste that is generated by the prevalence of individual, daily ready-to-drink packaging. We strongly encourage our customers to recycle the bottles!
